Horšovský Týn (Czech pronunciation: [ˈhorʃofskiː ˈtiːn]; German: Bischofteinitz) is a town in Domažlice District in the Plzeň Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 5,100 inhabitants. The town is located on the Radbuza River, on the border between the Plasy Uplands and Podčeskoleská Hills. Horšovský Týn was founded in the 12th century at the latest and became a town in the 14th century. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected as an urban monument reservation. The main landmark of the town is the Horšovský Týn Castle, which is protected as a national cultural monument.
