מצד אבירים הוא אתר עתיק, כנראה מהתקופה הרומית או הביזנטית, שלושה ק"מ צפונית מזרחית למעלות, על הגדה הצפונית של נחל כזיב, ליד אבירים. מידות האתר הן 12 מטר על 12 מטר (144 מטר רבוע) והוא בנוי אבנים מסותתות גדולות. בערבית נקרא המצד 'מסר' שפירושה מצרים, אך הסיבה לכך איננה ידועה. ויקטור גרן שביקר במקום בסוף המאה ה-19 מתאר:
