📖 About Delphi
Delphi was the holiest site in ancient Greece — home of the famous Oracle, to whom kings and citizens flocked to seek the counsel of the god Apollo. A UNESCO World Heritage Site on the slope of Mount Parnassus, in breathtaking mountain scenery. The Greeks believed Delphi was the navel of the world. The site preserves the Temple of Apollo, the ancient theater, the stadium, and the city treasuries. The Castalian Spring still flows. The museum displays the bronze Charioteer and the Sphinx of Naxos. Delphi is about 2.5 hours from Athens, visitable as a day trip or staying in the nearby village. The visit takes 2-3 hours and involves climbing.
