מוזיאון חיפה לאמנות נוסד ב-1951 בחיפה באגף הימני של מבנה עיריית חיפה. החל משנת 1978 הוא פועל בבניין הנוכחי שבוואדי ניסנאס. מבנה המוזיאון הוא מבנה אבן ייחודי שנבנה בשנות ה-20 כבית ספר והוכרז כאתר לשימור. הבניין התלת-קומתי ממוקם על גבול שכונת הדר, בצומת מרכזי של תרבות, המחבר שכונות יהודיות וערביות. המוזיאון הוא חלק ממוזיאוני חיפה ואחד משלושת המוזיאונים לאמנות הגדולים בישראל, ומתמקד בהצגת אמנות עכשווית, ישראלית ובינלאומית.
