המצודה האשורית בראשון לציון שוכנת על תל חולי בפינה הדרומית־מערבית של שכונת נווה שקמה, במערב העיר, בצידן הצפוני של שדרות יצחק רבין. התל המתנשא לגובה של כ־50 מטרים מעל פני הים וחולש על סביבתו מגובה של כ־30 מטרים, ומראשו נשקף מראה פנורמי של שכונותיה המערביות של העיר, וצפונה לעבר גורדי השחקים של תל אביב ורמת גן.
