📖 About The Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is the saltiest lake on Earth and one of the natural wonders of the Middle East. Located at the lowest point on the planet — about 430 meters below sea level — it drops 1.2 meters each year due to high evaporation. The water contains 34% salt (ten times the Mediterranean) — so much that you float effortlessly. But it is not only floating: Dead Sea mud contains 26 different minerals including magnesium, potassium, bromine, and iodine, renowned for being good for the skin, relieving psoriasis, and rejuvenating. The beaches — Mineral Beach, Bokek Beach, and others — offer organized facilities, freshwater showers, and full amenities. The surroundings are the Judean Desert — dramatic landscapes of rocky mountains, wild ibex, Nubian ibex, and special flora adapted to the extreme conditions. Two main tourism areas: the southern side (Ein Bokek) — 5-star hotels, world-leading spas, clean beaches; and the northern side (Kalia, Biankini) — simpler and less crowded. Near the Dead Sea: Ein Gedi (nature reserve with waterfalls), Masada (heritage site), Arad (interesting resort town), and Nahal David (a short hike). Important tip: do not stay in the water more than 20 minutes at a time, avoid getting it in your eyes, and shave before entering. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water afterwards, and use sunscreen — the sun here is extremely strong.

דום אקספו ים המלח הוא מתחם בעין בוקק בים המלח שנפתח באפריל 2025, בצמוד לאזור המלונות, ומשמש לקיום ירידים, תערוכות, כנסים ואירועים נוספים. המתחם המקורה משתרע על פני כ-5 דונם, מתנשא לגובה של 20 מטרים, יכול להכיל עד כ-5,000 אנשים ופועל בכל עונות השנה. כמו כן, המתחם הוא מרכז הכנסים הראשון בים המלח והוא נבנה בעלות של כ-120 מיליון ש"ח. הפרויקט נוסד על ידי איש עסקים מוטי גרין וחברת השטיח המעופף. המתחם נקרא דום (באנגלית: Dome, כיפה בעברית) בזכות צורתו הייחודית של המבנה ככיפה לבנה גדולה המשתלבת בנוף המדברי. אותה כיפה ייחודית משתמשת בלחץ אוויר המוזרם על ידי מדחסי ענק, מה שמאפשר מבנה ללא עמודים פנימיים. כמו כן, הקמת המתחם היא חלק מהשקעה כוללת בפיתוח התיירותי של אזור ים המלח, במטרה להפוך את המקום למרכז תרבות ובילוי מרכזי בישראל. פרויקטים נוספים כוללים פיתוח טיילת רציפה בין חמי זוהר לעין בוקק, הקמת מלונות נוספים ועוד. מאז פתיחתו, הדום אירח מגוון אירועים, כולל מסיבות, כנסים ופסטיבלים, והפך לאטרקציה מרכזית באזור ים המלח. לדוגמה, במרץ 2025 התקיים במקום פסטיבל ים תיכוני בהשתתפות אמנים מובילים. המתחם כרגע בבניה אפילו שה"דום" עצמו בנוי, בנוסף בונים מתחם טעינה רכבים.

How long can you stay in the water?

What if salt gets in my eyes?
Fresh water immediately. It hurts a lot but is not dangerous if you rinse quickly.
Where is the best spa?
The hotel spas at Ein Bokek and Kalia are excellent. Hot springs at several hotels too.

Restaurants in the hotels, plus burger spots and cafes at Bokek and Kalia. Worth bringing a picnic too.
