📖 About Mount Bental
Mount Bental is a volcanic hill 1,165 meters high in the Golan Heights, on the 1973 ceasefire line. It has transformed from a battle point into a place of peace and observation, offering one of the most impressive viewpoints in Israel — 360 degrees over the Syrian Golan, the Galilee, and Hermon. From the summit you can see: south — the Sea of Galilee and the Hula Valley; west — Mount Hermon; north — Syria; east — distant Damascus. On the summit are the iron sculptures — anti-war sculptures made by paratrooper soldiers, present from a perspective of stabilization after decades of wars. There is also a memorial to the paratrooper soldiers of 1973. The Coffee Annan cafe on site is considered one of the highest-quality coffee spots in Israel. The sensation is surreal — drinking coffee with warm pastries at 1,200 meters, with a 360-degree view, in an area still marked as a tension line. Mount Bental is part of the marked Volcano Trail in the Golan — complete if you tour a full day including Mount Avital, Mitzpe Gadot, and the Agmon Hula reserve.

הַר בֶּנְטַל הוא הר געש רדום בצפון-מזרח רמת הגולן, שפסגתו מגיעה לגובה של 1,171 מטרים מעל לפני הים. ההר נמצא ממערב לעיר הסורית קוניטרה ומדרום לקיבוץ מרום גולן, השוכן למרגלותיו. ההר הוא חלק מקו התלים הישראלי, ומהווה נקודת תצפית מצוינת לעבר סוריה, מורדות החרמון וכן לשאר רמת הגולן. ההר מהווה חלק משמורת הטבע "הר אביטל - הר בנטל", אשר מקיפה, מלבדו, גם את הר אביטל השוכן מדרום לו, ואת העמק המצוי בין שני ההרים.
