Slatiňany (Czech pronunciation: [ˈslacɪɲanɪ]) is a town in Chrudim District in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,100 inhabitants. The town proper is located on the Chrudimka River in the Svitavy Uplands. Slatiňany was founded in the 13th century at the latest, but it became a town only in 1971. The most important monument is the Slatiňany Castle, protected as a national cultural monument.
